In the modern age, the media tends to be influential for the in society in terms of political, cultural and economically. It is both known and used as a weapon now a day, a form of communication and source of most information. Media and Information Literacy is the essential requirement to access to the different information and knowledge, since it has the skills to be developed and most important of it is everyone should have is critical evaluation. Through this every people can learn how to identify and understand properly the information they have made or gathered. Being media and information literate are for us to be involved in modern age. There are lots of ways the modern technology has helped the people which make it more convenient to them. Social media platforms provide us the opportunity to reach out someone across the globe and improve the way to inspire and educate people. It is not just relying on media for days now, everyone grown to be content creator and author of their own. The media has revolutionized all educational needs and opportunities as they are embedded in children’s daily life. The media and information literacy is not about to protect the people from the unwanted information from different sources but to let know them how to evaluate them critically the information or messages they have gathered, if its right or wrong and for them to be mold to be open minded. That is why as time evolved to modern age, there is no choice but to be media and information literate. By this there will be no room for being deceived by a information that have gathered through social media. Since everyone have already developed the skills in evaluating reliable sources and information. Every media has one thing in common and it was made for a reason.

We are living in the world where full of judgments and discrimination are rampant. And one of it is religion discrimination, more specifically the Islamophobia. Islamophobia is the fear, hatred of against the Islamic religion or Muslim generally, especially seen as political force or the source of terrorism.

It said to be that Islamophobia is still consider to be racism, where Muslims are minority.

They all came up about this because of what they see and hear from the media which is not true at all or misleading stereotype and do not weigh the information first. Media sometimes is bias; they report something that is not true to gain or do not give justice to some news that need to be reported. I will be using my advocacy using Mil by spreading the truth about Islam in the media. There is no good at being judgmental and being racist. Every religion has its own uniqueness and beauty. I guess there’s no religion for terrorists. I am a Muslim and I condemn the killing of the world’s innocent people. Using MIL, I will tell the truth to really critically evaluate particular information and do not be deceived, for them not to come up something that is inappropriate and hurtful verdict.

My next move with my advocacy may be I will be upgrading to blogging/posts to really fight for our right Muslims not to be discriminated. Seeing Islamophobia is spread across blogs for the most part, I think it would be a good idea to include them. Even just this small thing to help my fellow Muslims. For them to stop the misconceptions they implanted to their mind. I pity those Muslims on overseas working specifically in some part of where Islamophobia is rampant. The fear of terrorism has been used in some western countries to justify the racial and religious discrimination of Muslims. We also have seen an increase in incidents of threats and intimidation and policies that discriminate against refugees and immigrants and deny their civil and human rights to community members.
